BURST PIPE ON MUNIICIPAL RETICULATION FROM THE RO PLANT TO THE WATER
TREATMENT PLANT

The 2ML Reverse Osmosis Seawater plant was commissioned by QFS on the 23rd of June
2021 with the project steering committee and the Mayor.

After commissioning, the contractor started pumping to the Water Treatment Plant. On the 25th
of June, a burst pipe in the municipal reticulation line going to the Water Treatment plant
occurred. The contractor started excavating until late at night and completed the work on
Sunday the 27th. After completion of the repairs the line was tested and there was still a small
leak on one of the fittings. The contractor is currently on site adjusting the fitting and they have
estimated that by 7pm this evening, they will be done with the works and allow QFS to start
pumping the water from the RO plant.
