It is described as a friendly farming community that sustains itself from chicory, dairy and pineapple plantations.Between the little town of Alexandria and the sea lies an area of subtropical coastal forests – extensive and dense – that is preserved as a state forest known as the Alexandria State Forest, or Langebos to locals.

It borders the Alexandria Dune field, considered one of the largest moving dune fields in the world – some of the dunes reach heights similar to those found in the Namib Desert.

Bathurst

Bathurst is situated on the fringes of both the Sunshine Coast and Frontier Country, a scenic half hour drive on the R67 from Grahamstown or 10 minutes from Port Alfred.

Today Bathurst brings together the past and the present, being the hub of one of the largest pineapple growing areas in South Africa. It is host to what is believed to be the oldest inn in South Africa, as well as the third oldest pub in South Africa.

Boknesstrand

Boknesstrand is situated in the heart of the Eastern Cape, about 40km from Port Alfred.

Cannon Rocks

Cannon Rocks is a village situated on the Sunshine Coast.Nestled in between the Boknes Village and the boundary of the Greater Addo Elephant Park it has the vast expanse of the warm Indian Ocean in front and rolling farmlands behind, making Cannon Rocks a small piece of paradise.

It was named Cannon Rocks for the two cannons and anchor near the Boknes beach and is a very popular fishing spot and a bird connoisseur’s delight.

Kenton On Sea

Kenton-on-Sea, more commonly known as Kenton, is a small coastal town on the Sunshine Coast. It is situated between the Bushman’s River and the Kariega River.

Kenton has a population of only about 1000 people, but is a popular holiday resort, and the population triples over the period of the December Summer holidays.

The area has many pristine beaches and green rolling hills, and a nature reserve along the shore ensures that no housing developments can spoil the coast.
